Ok so one of our reliable chefs gave me this recipe to try and it is absolutely delicious.......Why don't you try some this weekend?

Chili Orange Sticky Wings

Ingredients:

8 Chicken wings

Marinade:
1/3 cup honey
1 tbs minced garlic
1/4 cup Angostura pramge notters
1 tsp Oriental sesame oil
1 tbs Chinese Chilli Garlic Sauce
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Salt
1/3 cup sesame seeds

Sauce:
2 tbs Angostura orange bitters
1 tbs minced garlic
2 tbs soy sauce

Method:
Divide wings into small drumstick and wing pieces (you should have 16 pieces). Combine marinade ingredients, pour onto wings and combine well. Cover and marinate for one hour in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place wings into a shallow, greased baking dish or pan, bake until cooked through turning once about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, combine all the ingredients for the sauce except the sesame seeds and stir well. Baste chicken wings generously with sauce, return to oven and bake turning a few times and basting with all the sauce, until sticky and bubbly. Remove from oven, sprinkle wiht sesame seeds and garnish with chopped chadon beni if desired.

  1. So here is what Julie Noble did with our Angostura orange bitters........

"I took 3 ounces of good semi-sweet chocolate (Scharffen Berger is the best)and melted it very slowly on low heat on the stove.
I added 2/3 cup sugar. Then added 1 cup milk and 1 cup half and half. I was lucky and happened to have on hand a vanilla bean, and used a bout half an inch, scraping the inside and throwing the remaining pod in for good measure. But you can use 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Then I added 3 tablespoons cornstarch and whisked this together until it became thick and bubbly.
Continuing to whisk as I took it off the fire I added 1 teaspoon of ANGOSTURA ORANGE BITTERS.

Surprise, huh! I have previously blogged about the original bitters and love that but this is a new flavor they have and let me tell you something - Orange bitters rocks! Anytime you want an enhanced orange flavor or spicy citrus flavor try it.

I let the pudding get cold and then eat the best part - the 'skin' that forms on the top. My God what is better than that!".......

It seems like she knows what to do with it, why don't you experiment and let me know what you create.

  2. Oh yum, This looks fantastic. Pity I did not see these in time for World Cup finals. No matter bookmarked to try and thanks for stopping by my blog. Question what is 1/4 cup Angostura pramge notters? Typo or new product?
